What's Your Lab Coat
Capstone Project
For my capstone project at The University of the Arts, I created an interactive website demonstrating the strength of enclothed cognition, the theory that how you dress impacts your mood.
Two researchers coined the term enclothed cognition after conducting an experiment that tested the effects of wearing a white lab coat. In their study, participants wore the same white lab coat— however, one group was told it was a doctor’s lab coat and the other group was told they were just painter’s smocks. The doctor’s lab coat group performed better in their attention tasks than the other group. This further solidified their hypothesis that the clothes you wear have power over you… and you can use it to your advantage!
This site educated on the theory, explores real life examples, and ends with a personal quiz. This capstone project was meant to demonstrate my abilities of: graphic design, branding, web design, illustration, creative writing and motion graphics.
